Ridge Preservation
Ridge Preservation
When a tooth is extracted and planned to be replaced with a dental implant, ridge preservation may be recommended to maintain the natural shape and volume of the jawbone.

During this procedure, the empty socket is filled with bone graft material and covered with a protective, absorbable membrane. This helps preserve the bone and prevents shrinkage of the area after extraction.

The site is typically allowed to heal for approximately 3 to 4 months before the dental implant is placed, ensuring there is adequate bone for long-term stability and success.
