Pre-Surgical Instructions

 

Oral Sedation (Halcion / Triazolam)
Please take your medication exactly as prescribed on the bottle.

• Bring any remaining Halcion with you to your appointment

• Do not drive while taking this medication

• You must have someone drive you to and from your appointment

 

Mouth Rinse

• Begin salt water rinses as directed, starting the evening of your procedure

 

Antibiotics

• If prescribed, take all medications as directed

 

Before Your Appointment

• Eat a well-balanced meal prior to your visit

• Dress comfortably and wear a short-sleeved top (for blood pressure monitoring)

 

Aftercare Preparation

• Have cold, soft foods available such as smoothies, ice cream, or popsicles

• Consider purchasing over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen (Aleve) to help manage discomfort and swelling

• Multivitamins, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E may support the healing process

 

Day of Your Appointment

• You are welcome to bring headphones and a device if you would like to listen to music during your procedure

• Have your driver bring you a cold drink (smoothie, milkshake, etc.) for after your appointment
