Dental Implants

Dental Implants

Dental implants provide a strong, long-lasting foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Patients are able to eat comfortably, speak confidently, and smile knowing their results are both natural-looking and secure. Implants also help preserve facial structure by preventing the bone loss that typically occurs when teeth are missing.

Dental implants have transformed modern dentistry and are now one of the most predictable solutions for replacing missing or severely compromised teeth. In many cases, rather than attempting to restore a tooth with a poor long-term prognosis, replacing it with a dental implant offers a more reliable and lasting outcome.

Dr. Du has advanced training in both implantology and periodontology and works closely with general dentists to ensure precise placement and optimal function. This collaborative approach helps ensure the best possible outcome for your bite, comfort, and long-term oral health.

Evaluation & Consultation

If you are missing teeth or have concerns about your oral health, we invite you to schedule a consultation. If you have been referred by your dentist, we will coordinate with their office to obtain any necessary x-rays and minimize additional imaging.

A comprehensive evaluation may include:

  • Review of your dental and medical history

  • Digital x-rays or 3D imaging (if needed)

  • Oral cancer screening and TMJ evaluation

  • Assessment of your remaining teeth and bite

Once all information is gathered, Dr. Du will review your condition and discuss your treatment options with you. Your goals and preferences are always an important part of the decision-making process.

Treatment Options

Dental implants are highly versatile and can be used in a variety of ways, including:

  • Replacing a single missing tooth

  • Supporting a bridge to replace multiple teeth

  • Stabilizing a removable partial denture

  • Securing a full denture for improved comfort and function

In more complex cases, Dr. Du may collaborate directly with your general dentist to ensure a coordinated treatment plan. If you do not currently have a general dentist, we are happy to provide trusted referrals.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?

Most patients who are in good overall health and have sufficient bone are candidates for dental implants. If there are any medical considerations, we will coordinate with your physician to ensure safe treatment.

If additional bone support is needed, advanced imaging and planning technology allow us to precisely evaluate and prepare the area for implant placement.

What If I Don’t Have Enough Bone?

Bone grafting procedures can often restore lost bone and create a stable foundation for implants, even in cases where bone loss has occurred due to age or periodontal disease.

Is There an Age Limit?

Young patients should wait until jaw growth is complete (typically around ages 18–20). For adults, there is no upper age limit, overall health is more important than age. Dental implants have been successfully placed in patients well into their later years.

How Long Does the Process Take?

Treatment timelines vary depending on your specific needs and can range from a few months to up to a year. If bone grafting is required, additional healing time may be needed before implant placement.

While same-day implant options may be available in select cases, our priority is long-term success and stability. Our focus is on achieving results that last for years to come.

Cost of Dental Implants

In straightforward cases, we can provide a close estimate for implant placement. For more complex cases, costs may vary depending on the need for additional procedures such as bone grafting.

It’s important to note:

  • Implant placement (the “foundation”) is completed in our office

  • Your general dentist will place the final restoration (abutment and crown)

  • Insurance coverage for implants varies and is often limited

We will review all expected costs with you in advance so you can make an informed decision with no surprises.
