Perioscopy Alternative
An Advanced Non-Surgical Treatment Option
Perioscopy is an innovative, minimally invasive procedure that allows us to diagnose and treat periodontal (gum) disease without traditional surgery. Using advanced micro-camera technology, we can see and treat areas below the gumline with greater precision and comfort.

Periodontal disease is one of the most common infections in adults and often develops without noticeable symptoms in its early stages. If left untreated, it can lead to bad breath, bleeding gums, bone loss, and ultimately tooth loss. It has also been linked to systemic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and respiratory issues.

Traditionally, advanced gum disease was treated with surgical procedures. Today, Perioscopy offers a non-surgical alternative in many cases. This technology uses a tiny fiber-optic camera that is gently inserted between the tooth and gum, allowing us to view the root surfaces in real time.

The Perioscope magnifies the area up to 48 times and displays it on a chairside screen. This enhanced visibility allows us to precisely identify and remove plaque, tartar, and diseased tissue that may not be detectable with standard techniques.

By using Perioscopy, we can often treat periodontal disease more comfortably, reduce the need for surgery, and promote better long-term outcomes.
